Sizing Your Product Images

The optimum image size for product thumbnail images is a maximum of 200 pixels in width. It's important to note that this measurement is actual pixel size, not the file size. Also note: Your images must be saved as either GIF or JPG format. An example image size can be found below:

Detailed product images allow an even larger image to be displayed on the product page. The maximum pixel size for "detailed" images is 400 pixels in width. An example can be found below:

Additional Examples,
Let's say for example, that your original image is 800x600. To size your image as a product thumbnail, you would need to set your new image size to 200x150 pixels (200 pixels in width and 150 pixels in height) to retain the correct aspect ratio.

For your detailed product image, you would need to set your image size (from your original 800x600 image) to 400x300 (400 pixels in width and 300 pixels in height) to retain the correct aspect ratio.
