The "Extra fields" area allows you to add
additional non-standard fields to the product
table. For example, this can be
used to add an Author and ISBN field to a
product that is a book. You can access the
"Extra fields" page by clicking the left side
"Extra fields" link under "Products".
Or you can click the "Extra fields" icon on
the main page of your personal administration
area.
To add an extra
field:
Enter the field name into the "Field name"
field. Note: It is recommended to have no
duplicating "Field names" in order to avoid
confusing customers. If you wish to have a default value automatically populate the
extra field on the "Add
new product" and "Modify product" page, enter the
value into the "Default value" field.

It is important to note that the "extra field"
that you add will be displayed on all of
your products and not just a select few. |
To add the extra field to your
products table, press the "Apply"
button. Once applied, the new field is
available on the "Add
new product" page and "Modify
product" page and is displayed to
the customer on your product pages.

If you do not want to make a field
visible to your customers, unselect the
"Show" check box next to the extra field
and click Apply.
If you want to remove an extra field, click
the "Delete" button next to the extra field that you want to
delete.
