The "discounts" area allows you to define
purchase discounts that you want to be active
for your store. Purchase discounts apply to all
customer orders and do not require the customer
to enter any type of "code" to receive the
discount. These are normally used to provide
automatic savings for every customer order that
is over a certain amount.
| Note: The "Order Amount" is
the total amount of the customer order
before sales tax and discount charges.
If you also take coupons, the coupon
savings amount will be deducted before
this calculation is done. Based on the
order amount, the store will check the
information below to see if a purchase
discount needs to be calculated and
applied to the customer's order. |
You can access the "Discounts" page by
clicking the left side "Discounts" link under
"Inventory".
Or you can click the "Discounts" icon on the
main page of your personal administration area.
To define purchase discounts:
- Enter the "Order total" amount for which
you want to define the discount, for example
if you set the "Order total" at 100.00 and
the customer orders $100.00 or more,
the discount will automatically apply
savings and lower the total order amount
based on the "Discount" and "Discount type"
values.
- Enter the Discount value (either a dollar
amount or percentage depending on your
choice in the "Discount type" dropdown box).
- Select the Discount type from the
dropdown box. Choosing "Absolute, $" will
calculate a flat dollar amount discount
based on the value specified in the "Discount"
field and choosing "Percent, %" will
calculate a percentage discount based on the
value specified in the "Discount" field.
- The "Membership" dropdown is reserved
for future expansion of the CraftMall.com
system so for now, leave the option set to
"All".
- Click the "Add/Update" button to add the
new discount.

options for existing discounts in the discount form and click
the Add/Update button to apply the

To delete a discount, click the "Delete"
button next to the discount that you wish to delete.
