Coupons are another great way to promote sales by
creating an incentive for customers to buy your
products. Each coupon allows the customer to
receive a discount when he/she orders your
products. If the customer enters a valid coupon
code during checkout, the customer's order total
will automatically be decreased by the discount
amount based on the coupon values that you
specified when you created the coupon. You can
access the "Coupons" page by clicking the left
side "Coupons" link under "Inventory".
Or you can click the "Coupons" icon on the
main page of your personal administration area.
To create a new coupon:
Scroll down to the "Add new coupon" form.
Coupon #
Enter a unique coupon code (maximum of 16
characters). Each coupon code that you enter
into the system must be unique from all other
coupons in order to avoid customer confusion
during checkout.
Times to use
This field defines how many times the coupon
code will be accepted for purchase of your
products.
Status
You have the option of making the coupon
immediately available by choosing "Active" from
the status dropdown box or you can make it
unavailable by choosing "Disabled".
Discount
Enter a discount value (fixed dollar amount or
percent). Note: if you choose "free
shipping" for the "discount type" (next field)
this field is ignored.
Coupon type
Choose from the following: "$ off" (fixed dollar
amount discount), "% off" (percent discount from
the price) or "free shipping".
Expires
This field defines the date when the coupon will
be expired.
Apply to
Define the coupon to apply to one of the
following:
- "order subtotal, $" (orders more than
the minimal order total)
- A specific product
- All of your
products that are listed under a specific
category.
To make your choice, tick the circle checkbox
next to the definition that you wish to apply
your coupon to.
| Note: if you wish to apply
your coupon to a specific product,
first, tick the circle checkbox next to
"one product" field and click the "Browse"
button to open the "Product
Selection" window. Use the "Product
Selection" window to add the product
to the "one product" field. |
To add your new coupon, click the "Add
coupon" button.
Managing existing coupons:
Changing an existing coupon's status
You can change the status of an existing coupon
by selecting your status choice via the "Status"
dropdown box and pressing the "Update" button.
Coupon deletion
To delete coupons which have been used or
expired, click the "Delete" button next to the
coupon that you wish to delete.
